First, I just wanted to thank Fernando Bunao – a Traveler
and a blogger for sharing this idea in Blogging. I may not be able to share
this if I didn’t meet him.
Anyway, let me go back to the topic. I am blogging because I
wanted to share my journey and inspire other people to reach their dreams and
continue their passion.
If you think that you love sewing or crafting then go for it
and never stop creating things through your mind and heart, just like what I
did.
You know what? Something to be done in your life that you’ve
never done before is an achievement. It’s a discovery of what you can do and a
gift that something God had been given to you that you need to find in yourself.
I started sewing by hand the Super Mario Costume of my 1st
son. I just have the thinking that I can save money by sewing rather than
buying it from the mall w/c I did!

If you are a mother, you will think of the babies basic need rather than buying expensive things like costumes.
It followed with a
Pirate Prince costume with a crafted Pirate Boat Loot bag.

won, had a picture with the host Bianca Lapus – Ex wife of Vhong Navarro

The loot bag has a pumpkin loot bag inside. I customized it
by putting hard ‘karton’ w/c I recycled from a Red Ribbon cake. Also other
designs are recycled from broken belt, old clothes, used ribbons, broken toy
and other things that I kept at home w/c for some they might think it’s a
garbage. But no! For crafters, it is very useful.
Hand sewing of this costume is hard, it took 2 weeks to be
finished. I am glad, my sister in law gave me this gift “Brother sewing machine”
to easily sew costumes and for her to see my creations in Facebook while she’s
on Dubai. 11,000 is expensive but take a look, you will have free training from
Brother – in BGC and you can go there ‘til you learn how to use it including
the features.
While I was about to go the training, I saw this Verse from
national Book store and OMG, I felt God reminded me this and was so inspired
that time.
I tried sewing single stitch and other stitches that time and these are the things made:

And while I was going along, I aim for better sewing techniques and better machine to easily sew garments so I also bought Brother Lock overlock machine for edges and for professional sewing. Note that I had a free training of this before I bought it.
With the 2 machines I have, I was able to make Pokemon Costume named "Greninja":

And look, this is my version of the 1st made by Brother Sewing combined with hand sewing. My machine cannot sew so thick garments. And as a mother, I was so happy to atleast receive an award as one of the Best Costumes.
I will continue for I feel that this is my calling.
